Video Post: Roger's Week?

The men are in Toronto for the Rogers Cup, the first ATP Masters Series event of the summer.

Though Novak Djokovic is the defending champion, the last time this event was held in Toronto, it was Roger Federer who took the title. Federer won four straight three-set matches to win the tournament, beating Richard Gasquet in the final.

Is it his year again? There are a few guys standing in his way.

(Correction: The WTA heads to the Rogers Cup next week, not to San Diego as mentioned in the video.)

It is very important for Federer to come out strong in this one...to get his dominance back on track...he is definitely shook...after two straight slam defeats against the same man...needs this one to get stronger mentally ....

Do you think that this tournament will be make or break for Fed for the entire summer? Season?!?

Definitely a few guys standing in his way.

I hope Rogi does have a chance to face Gonzalez, or Davydenko, or Andy (if he's playing well).

I don't know that I'd want a cupcake draw if by semis and finals I was potentially going to have to deal with one of two "nemeses" on the other side of the net.

Go Rogi!

Oh, P.S. -

It's Roger's Cup.

:D

m,
Thanks for all your comments! I think you're right about the 'cupcake draw'... but Rog is going to have a tough time regardless! Wimbledon has to be lingering in his head (and heart) a little.

It is actually Rogers Cup, no apostrophe. Rogers is a telecommunications company in Canada:
